Examination and Cleaning

Impressions & Tooth Extraction
For customised teeth alignment braces, an impression is taken digitally or by biting on a soft impression material. Sometimes, tooth extraction may be required to ensure the final perfect alignment.

Braces Application
Each bracket is bonded to the tooth perfectly so that it's etched on the surface. The braces are placed on the teeth using a composite material which is then cured. Post that, the archwire is inserted through the brackets & tightened. The orthodontist suggests an oral hygiene routine and Dos and Don’ts of Braces to adhere to, to prevent any damage.05
Follow-up Appointments
The orthodontist oversees the progress of your treatment every 4-8 weeks. This is necessary to make adjustments, change the bands and replace the archwire.06
Debonding
In the final appointment, the orthodontic brackets and archwire are debonded from the tooth surface. The orthodontist polishes the tooth to remove the adhesive resin and restore the surface to its original form.07
Retainers
The perfect teeth alignment and orthodontic treatment results are maintained with the help of special appliances called retainers. The orthodontist prescribes a retainer type that is most suitable to prevent any treatment relapse.

Types of Braces for your comfort
Traditional Metal Braces
Traditional braces consist of brackets and wires, which are typically constructed of metal and affixed to the teeth to allow for positioning adjustments as needed.
Ceramic Braces

Do braces hurt?
After placing the braces, it is normal to feel slight discomfort and pain as the surrounding soft tissues such as the cheeks, tongue and lips take time to adapt to them. The teeth feel sore during the first few days.06
What can I do to reduce the pain?
It is advised to avoid any hard foodstuffs till the soreness disappears. Over-the-counter painkillers may also be taken if the pain is unbearable.07
How do I take care of my retainer?
It is extremely important to keep the retainer clean. Gently brush the retainer with a toothbrush and a nonabrasive toothpaste to remove any debris. Remove the retainer during meals and keep it in a safe box. Do not keep it in boiling water or the dishwasher.08
Is the retainer important to be worn?
